This week’s selection hails from Atlanta and why haven’t you heard of them yet? Fat Kids Brotha played at our Pre-CMJ showcase all the way back in October and ever since then I have been trying to get my hands on more of their music. 
These guys drove from ATL to New York to play at our showcase in dedication of their music. More artists should be out here grinding like that not allowing distance to be an excuse but rather a motivation for your music to be heard.
Enough rambling, when this band hit the stage I knew I was in for a treat. They just exuded the meaning of being “cool.” Right then, I wish I had heard more of their music so I could be the music nerd in the front row rapping along to every lyric. Their rhymes just bumped all night and had me not wanting their set to be over. They entertained and most of all threw a good show. Listening to their mixtape was an added bonus. They lace the tape with a couple skits and jokes here and there.
That night and later listening to the mixtape, inspired me to find out who they were and discover more about them.
Since then, I have not been able to find out more about them but have seen them featured in blogs from down South and knew I had to bring this dream team to the ears of us Yankees. Check out their blog and bandcamp and make sure to keep an ear out for them.
