Regardless of who decides the results, any “top rapper list” will always garner controversy and drama and fighting over who’s favorite rapper is number one and who doesn’t deserve a chance in hell to even see their name on such a list.
But that’s music fans for you.
MTV recently released a list of 25 nominees that they believe were the top 25 MCs of 2011. Some of these names are definitely questionable, while others deserve their spot on that list for actual hard work, not some label pushing a lame artist. But I digress. Fat Joe also had something to say about the list regarding Lil Wayne and Drake.
Fat Joe speaks on Lil Wayne:
“I heard a rumor, someone told me Lil Wayne ain’t on the list,” Joe told MTV News during a January interview. “I said, they sniff heron over there. I’m like, that’s Lil Wayne, man.”
On Drake:
“The reason why I wouldn’t say Drake [is] #1 — because Drake really is #1 to be honest with you, but the singing and all that…’”
