50 percent of teens say drinking and drugs are the main reason they don’t use contraception when they have sex. 13 percent of teens say they did something sexual when using drugs or alcohol that they wouldn’t do if they were sober! Teaching responsibility with drugs and alcohol usage at an earlier age would substantially reduce teen pregnancy, rape and STI/HIV exchange.
“Teens see drinking as a way of relaxing because that’s what adults do, ” according to an 18 year old college freshman.
